![]() ![]() Unlike FromSoftware’s games, you can choose from four different difficulty levels. Parry time gets very tricky at higher difficulty levels, and I never quite felt I got the hang of it in the same way I did with Sekiro. You can lock onto enemies, dodge out of the way, hit with normal or heavy attacks-the latter use Force-and parry incoming attacks which allows you to respond with a special counter-attack. The combat mechanics are very similar to Dark Souls, or perhaps more precisely to Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice. For instance, you might spend skill points on increasing maximum health or Force, or improving the efficacy of BD-1’s Stims. It includes both passive and active abilities. ![]() The skill tree expands as you awaken various latent Force powers, so you won’t have access to every skill from the get-go. There are also a ton of customization options for the lightsaber, which is actually pretty cool even if you won’t notice most of them in the heat of battle.įinally, there’s a skill tree that you can spend skill points to unlock. You can also upgrade your lightsaber a couple of times, but I won’t get into spoilery details about that. When you meditate at meditation points, you’ll replenish your Stims. The more you carry, the more times you can heal. BD-1 carries them and will toss them to you when you heal. These are essentially the same as Estus Flasks from Dark Souls. You’ll also find Stims hidden across the game’s various planets. These are often powers that help you navigate new areas of a map by unlocking previously impassable doors and so forth. Then there are upgrades for BD-1, your adorable droid companion that you unlock at various upgrade stations you encounter throughout the game. ![]()
